Syrfi Syringe Filters
Shimadzu’s Syrfi syringe filters and disposable syringes are specifically engineered to provide consistent and reliable results for a wide range of analytes and demanding matrices to deliver exceptional sample preparation performance for a variety of applications.
Count on increased sample throughput, instrument uptime, and column lifetime because Syrfi removes a wide range of particulates from samples prior to HPLC, UHPLC, or LCMS analysis, helping to prevent clogging of the flow path from the autosampler to the column.
Syrfi filters can also be used for sample cleanup before GC and GCMS, UV-Vis, or AA and ICP analysis.
Constructed of ultra clean, low leachable and extractable plastics, Syrfi will not introduce contamination.
Choose from these membranes in 2 pore sizes and 2 filter diameters to accommodate small and large volume samples:
Nylon – all-purpose material ideal for dissolution sample analysis, mixed sample matrix of organic and aqueous soluble analytes, and organic solvent extraction cleanup, especially for hemp and cannabis flower samples.
PTFE (Hydrophilic) – recommended for elevated temperatures and most organic solvents, caustic, and acidic solutions. Does not require pre-wetting for high aqueous samples.
PTFE (Hydrophobic) – suitable for the same applications as Hydrophilic PTFE but requires pre-wetting with alcohol before use with aqueous samples. Can be used as a moisture barrier in gaseous venting applications.
Regenerated Cellulose – optimized for samples requiring high recoveries such biological assays, protein-based samples, and gel capsule dissolution testing. Lowest protein binding of any Syrfi membrane.
Polypropylene – hydrophilic, low-binding material ideal for protein and peptide-based samples. Does not require pre-wetting.
PVDF (Hydrophilic) – recommended for aqueous HPLC and UHPLC samples, especially for analysis of pesticides and PPCPs in environmental water samples.
PVDF (Hydrophobic) – suitable for aqueous and organic samples; requires pre-wetting with an alcohol before use with aqueous sample matrices.
Cellulose Acetate – ideal for aqueous solutions and biological samples close to neutral pH. Stable at elevated temperatures for low protein binding and high recovery.
PES (Polyethersulfone) – best choice for ion chromatography (IC) applications, due to certification by ICP for low-level interferences.
